BURKINA FASO ENERGY MINISTER MAKES ONE-DAY VISIT TO GHANA

ACCRA, Nov 14 (NNN-GNA) -- The Minister of Energy, Mines and Quarries of Burkina Faso, Alfa Oumar Dissa, paid a courtesy call on Ghana's Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, at the Ministry here Monday.

King A. Wellington, the Head of Communication at the Ministry of Energy said in a media statement that Oumar Dissa was on a one-day visit to Ghana to discuss the status of the 225-kilovolt (kV) Bolgatanga–Ouagadougou power transmission line project.

The statement added that Oumar Dissa was also expected to visit the project site at Bolgatanga, in northern Ghana, about 770 kilometres north of here, on Tuesday. The trans-boundary power line inter-connection covering a distance of about 200 km will deliver power to Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, Ghana's landlocked northern neighbour. -- NNN-GNA
