MALAYSIAN DELEGATION EXPLORES INVESTMENTS IN INDIA'S UTTARAKHAND STATE

NEW DELHI, Oct 12 (NNN-Bernama) -- A Malaysian business delegation has visited the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand to explore investments in tourism, education and infrastructure projects.

The group of eight businessmen from the Indian Entrepreneurs Chambers of Malaysia (IECM) and Malaysian High Commissioner to India Hidayat Abdul Hamid discussed potential business opportunities with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.

"We discussed investments in education, infrastructure and tourism. They are receptive to our proposals, hence, we will have further talks to firm up the proposed projects," IECM President Bharat Ajmera told Bernama on Wednesday.

The visiting Malaysian businessmen also met the state's Education Minister Arvind Pandey, Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj and senior officials in Dehradun on Monday.

Bharat said the Uttarakhand officials also suggested other business opportunities in the state, saying that he would be discussing them with Malaysian companies.
