CARACAS, Feb 17 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA)--The Movement of Non-Aligned Countries (NAM) has today rejected the U.S. Treasury Department's sanction against Venezuela's Vice President Tareck El Aissami, for alleged links to international drug trafficking.

In a statement, the NAM's Coordination Bureau rejects the inclusion of El Aissami in the list of people related to drug trafficking, which it considers a new coercive and unilateral measure by the United States Government against the South American nation.

It has also voiced its support for the Government and people of Venezuela and urges the US administration to repeal the measure as it violates international law, the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and the rules governing peaceful relations among States.

Last Feb 13, the Office of Foreign Assets Control called El Aissami a drug trafficker, without showing any evidence against the Venezuelan politician.--NNN-PRENSA LATINA
