LIMA, Aug 10 (NNN-ANDINA) - Peru's national statistics agency INEI said yesterday that Peru posted a trade surplus of US$442 million.

The INEI said that exports fell 14 percent, to US$3.57 billion in June, due to a decline in traditional exports, mainly commodities.

Imports were down slightly at $3.13 billion, the INEI said.

Peru had posted trade deficits in April and May due to a steep decline in exports.

Peru's exports have fallen amid a slowdown in the global economy, Dow Jones Newswires reported.
