PAKISTANI PM HOPES INCREASED WATER IN-FLOWS TO RAISE POWER GENERATION
Last Updated: 2012-07-15 ISLAMABAD, Pakistan July 15 (NNN-APP) -- Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Saturday had an aerial view of the Tarbela lake and hoped that water power generation would improve with increased in-flow.
The Prime Minister during his engagements at Shangla was briefed by Chairman Wapda that the in-flow of water in Tarbela has risen to 218,000 cusecs and with rising temperatures it seemed that the dam would fill soon.
He was optimist that with increased water, hydel power generation would also increase significantly and help meet the demand.
The Prime Minister said government was committed to increasing power generation, particularly during the Ramzan. -- NNN-APP
