TANGAIL, Bangladesh June 30 (NNN-BSS) -- After 13 years of inauguration of construction, a much waited rail line connecting east side of the Bangabandhu Bridge (BB) with Tarakandi, Jamalpur opened for traffic today heralding a new era of socio-economic development of greater Mymensingh region.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina formally opened the 40.20- kilometer rail route.

The rail route linking Mymensingh and a number of country's northern and eastern districts would help carrying fertilizer from Jamuna Fertilizer Factory, agricultural goods as well as easing communications with Dhaka.

It would also materialize a long cherished dream of the people Kishoreganj, Mymansingh, Serpur, Jamalpur, Netrakona and Sunamganj districts to have a railway connectivity with Dhaka.--NNN-BSS
