DRAUGHT IN SOMALIA

DRAUGHT IN SOMALIA. Children drink water delivered by a truck in the drought stricken Baligubadle village near Hargeisa, the capital city of Somaliland on March 16, 2017. Somalia recently declared the drought a national disaster amid warnings of a full-blown famine. The country faced a similar crisis in 2011 that killed nearly 260,000 people. Humanitarian organizations estimate 6.2 million people, over half the country's population, are facing acute food insecurity across Somalia and are in need of assistance.
