CAMBODIAN PM APPRECIATES ELECTION PROCESS. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has expressed his appreciation to the National Election Committee (NEC) for having successfully organised the recent commune elections on 8 June 2012. Results released by NEC indicate the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) won most of the Commune/Sangkat council seats. CPP took the majority of the 11,459 councillor seats for the 1,633Communes/Sangkats throughout of the country, followed by the Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) and Human Rights Party (HRP).
