Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has announced that the land border with Brazil will be closed, speaking at a televised address from Caracas on Thursday. \u201cFrom 20:00, Thursday on February 21 [00:00 GMT on Friday] we are closing in a total and absolute manner the land border with Brazil. It\u2019s better to prevent than regret [a situation]. We are taking all safety measures to protect our people,\u201d said Maduro. The announcement comes two days before February 23, the day which opposition leader and self-declared interim president Juan\u00a0Guaido\u00a0claims that US humanitarian aid will reach Venezuela. Caracas, Feb 22 (NNN- Prensa Latina) The president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, ordered the indefinite closure from this Thursday of the land border with Brazil.
In a videoconference from the headquarters of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Force, the head of state ordered the military troops in the western Venezuelan border area to take measures not to affect citizenship in the suspension of traffic between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maduro explained that this Thursday the vice president of the Republic, Delcy Rodriguez, together with the chancellor, Jorge Arreaza, received a diplomatic note from the ambassador of the Netherlands in Caracas, after the decision to terminate the maritime connections and with the islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Cura\u00e7ao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In that regard, the president specified that as long as the authorities of those territories lend themselves to the warlike actions carried out by the United States, in promoting the illegal entry into the South American nation of the supposed humanitarian aid, the traffic limitation will be maintained. ‘With respect, everything is possible,’ said Maduro, while stressing that the objective of the psychological war imposed by the United States is wear and tear, demoralization to cancel the willingness of the government, the armed forces and the Venezuelan people to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
