KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 (NNN-BERNAMA) —\u00a0 The annual Japanese Film Fest (JFF) 2020, which was set to return in November, has been further postponed to January 2021 and will be known as \u201cJFF 2020 Plus One\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur (JFKL), in a statement on Tuesday, said the film festival was initially scheduled in October, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cJFKL, together with Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC), has decided on the postponement due to the worrying spike in the number of COVID-19 cases, as it would be the best solution in helping to curb the spread of the pandemic,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite the postponement, JFKL said it is also organising the online festival titled \u2018JFF Plus: Online Festival\u2019 from Nov 20 to 29, bringing Japanese movie fans a series of titles from past festivals as well as some new titles for viewing in the comfort and safety of their homes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Further details of the online festival will be announced in early November. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, it added that a dedicated page, \u2018JFF Remote Films\u2019, on the official JFF 2020 Plus One website will be introducing two ‘remote films\u2019 which were created entirely remotely during the lockdown, together with an interview with director Yukisada Isao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
New showtimes for \u2018JFF 2020 Plus One\u2019 at participating cinemas will be announced mid-December, it added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
