India rolled out the red carpet for the crown prince as it seeks diplomatic support against Pakistan following a militant attack in the disputed region of Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Big announcement &#8211; Saudi Arabia to invest $100 bn in India &#8211;  a huge vote of confidence in the Indian economy. PM <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/narendramodi?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@narendramodi<\/a> welcomed announcement by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/SaudiCrownPrince?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#SaudiCrownPrince<\/a> to invest in areas like energy, refining, petro-chemicals, infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing, etc. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7DFRaou0Br\">pic.twitter.com\/7DFRaou0Br<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Arindam Bagchi (@MEAIndia) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MEAIndia\/status\/1098216228550782976?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 20, 2019<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The crown prince was also given a lavish welcome this week in Pakistan where the two sides signed memoranda of understanding valued at about $20 billion to help prop up Pakistan\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a joint press appearance after talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the crown prince, also known as MBS, said that terrorism was a common concern and Saudi Arabia was ready to share intelligence with India to tackle it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two countries will start a security dialogue at the level of national security advisors and set up a working group on counter-terrorism, said T.S. Tirumurti, who handles economic relations at India\u2019s foreign ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBoth leaders called on all countries to renounce the use of terrorism as an instrument of state policy,\u201d Tirumurti told a press briefing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">And another important take away from the visit of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/SaudiCrownPrince?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#SaudiCrownPrince<\/a> which would help more Indian pilgrims to perform the Haj<br><br>His Royal Highness the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/SaudiCrownPrince?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#SaudiCrownPrince<\/a> announced the increase in quota for Indian Haj pilgrims to 200,000 at the request of PM <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/narendramodi?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@narendramodi<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/FrPR3hc2eD\">pic.twitter.com\/FrPR3hc2eD<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Arindam Bagchi (@MEAIndia) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MEAIndia\/status\/1098260679360987141?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 20, 2019<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>India blames Pakistan for not doing enough to counter militant groups that operate from its soil including the one that claimed responsibility for the Kashmir car bombing last Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pakistan denies ties to cross-border terrorism and has said it would retaliate against Indian attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe face similar challenges, chief among them extremism and terrorism &#8230; and we reaffirm to India that we are ready to work in the intelligence and political arenas to coordinate our efforts &#8230;\u201d the crown prince said.
