{"id":97439,"date":"2020-10-19T19:45:01","date_gmt":"2020-10-19T11:45:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=97439"},"modified":"2020-10-19T19:45:03","modified_gmt":"2020-10-19T11:45:03","slug":"malaysia-airports-installs-latest-thermal-scanners-to-keep-airport-guests-safe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=97439","title":{"rendered":"Malaysia Airports installs latest thermal scanners to keep airport guests safe"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 (NNN-BERNAMA) &#8212;\u00a0Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) is installing the\u00a0latest thermal scanners and additional sneeze guards at 19 more airports nationwide as it\u00a0continues efforts to keep\u00a0airport guests safe from COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airport operator said a total of&nbsp;23 new thermal scanners and 600 units of sneeze guards would be installed at all 19 airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTwelve&nbsp;airports, besides KL International Airport (KLIA, International Air Transport Association&nbsp;code: KUL), have completed the installations,\u201d it said in a statement today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It said the 12 airports were&nbsp;Penang International&nbsp;Airport,&nbsp;Langkawi International Airport,&nbsp;Kuching International Airport,&nbsp;Kota Kinabalu International&nbsp;Airport,&nbsp;Subang&nbsp;Airport,&nbsp;Terengganu&nbsp;Airport, Tawau Airport, Labuan&nbsp;Airport,&nbsp;Alor Setar&nbsp;Airport, Sandakan&nbsp;Airport, Kota Bharu&nbsp;Airport and Miri&nbsp;Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MAHB said seven&nbsp;other airports were currently undergoing installations, including&nbsp;Ipoh Airport, Kuantan Airport,&nbsp;Melaka Airport,&nbsp;Bintulu Airport, Limbang Airport,&nbsp;Sibu Airport and Lahad Datu Airport. These are&nbsp;scheduled to be completed by end of this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Group chief executive officer Datuk&nbsp;Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh said since the onset of the pandemic, MAHB&nbsp;had&nbsp;not stopped exploring means and ways to help mitigate the risks of COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe consider this as part and parcel of our obligation to help keep our country safe.
