{"id":97071,"date":"2020-10-17T10:49:22","date_gmt":"2020-10-17T02:49:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=97071"},"modified":"2020-10-17T10:54:16","modified_gmt":"2020-10-17T02:54:16","slug":"nearly-5000-covid-19-cases-reported-in-syria-amid-preventive-measures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=97071","title":{"rendered":"Nearly 5,000 COVID-19 Cases Reported In Syria Amid Preventive Measures"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>DAMASCUS, Oct 17 (NNN-SANA) &#8211; Nearly 5,000 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Syria since Mar, amid preventive measures undertaken by the Syrian health authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Syrian Health Ministry said, 56 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Friday, bringing the overall number of infections that have been registered in the country since Mar to 4,987.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The number included 1,456 recoveries and 241 deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That was the number reported in government-controlled areas in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor, said that, 95 cases were recorded on Friday, in rebel-held areas in the northern provinces of Aleppo and Idlib.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A total of 2,337 cases have been reported in rebel-held areas in Aleppo and Idlib since July, including 1,140 recoveries and 20 deaths, the UK-based watchdog group added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Kurdish-held areas, in northern and north-eastern Syria, a total of 2,739 cases have been reported, including 90 deaths and 620 recoveries, according to the Kurdish authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Syrian government has taken several measures since the outbreak of the pandemic, including a partial curfew, and shut-off of several businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the government has eased the measures, but urged the people to take protective measures, such as wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.&#8211; NNN-SANA  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DAMASCUS, Oct 17 (NNN-SANA) &#8211; Nearly 5,000 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Syria since Mar, amid preventive measures undertaken by the Syrian health authorities.
