KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 (NNN-BERNAMA) — Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was not wearing the COVID-19 monitoring wristband of the Health Ministry (MOH) as\u00a0he had been advised to carry out\u00a0self-health monitoring using home assessment tool (HAT) via the MySejahtera application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A statement issued by the Prime Minister\u2019s Office today said the move was based on risk evaluation conducted by MOH officers on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Prime Minister was advised to undergo self-quarantine and carry out self-health monitoring in the house daily for 14 days using home assessment tool (HAT) through MySejahtera application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn this regard, he was not required by MOH to wear the monitoring wristband,\u201d the statement\u00a0said in response to allegations arising from the absence of a monitoring wristband on the Prime Minister\u2019s wrist that have gone viral and questioned by netizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is not true that the Prime Minister had violated the MOH order, the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It further said that the result\u00a0of the COVID-19 screening test carried out on the Prime Minister on Monday (Oct 5) was confirmed negative yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Apart from that, Muhyiddin had also undergone COVID-19 screenings on Sept 22, 26 and 29 and all the tests were found negative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was however advised to get\u00a0treatment immediately at a health facility nearby if he experienced any symptoms during the quarantine period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo far, the health of the Prime Minister is good. Despite that, he will continue to carry out self-quarantine until the 14-day period stipulated by MOH is over,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Muhyiddin had to undergo self-quarantine after he had chaired the National Security Council (MKN) meeting on Saturday which was also attended by Minister in the Prime Minister\u2019s Department (Religious Affairs) Senator Datuk Seri Dr\u00a0Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, who was confirmed COVID-19 positive on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
