SEREMBAN (Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia), Sept 23 (Bernama) —\nMawar Medical Centre (MMC) has created another milestone in the healthcare\nindustry when it became the first hospital in Malaysia to acquire the latest\nMagnetom Altea 1.5T (Tesla) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system, a medical\nimaging technique used in radiology to form pictures of the anatomy and the\nphysiological processes of the body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Its chairman, Lee Tian Hock, said the Magnetia Altea comes\nwith a new acceleration technique called the \u2018Turbo Suite Essential\u2019 that\nenables up to 50 percent faster routine scan that can leads to faster image\nacquisition and ultimately faster diagnosis for the patient that helps with\ntreatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPreviously, it took an hour for MRI process, and now the\ntime taken is reduced by 50 per cent and will only take 30 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe MRI is the latest version by Germany technology, we\nspent US$1.02 million (RM4.3 million) for the MRI just to provide tip-top\nmedical care and facility to our patients,\u201d he told a press conference after\ninspecting the new MRI scanner here Wednesday. (US$1 = RM4.16)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lee also said compared to the existing MRI, the Magnetom\nAltea also comes with BioMatrix technology that has sensors, tuners, and\ninterfaces to anticipate the motion and adapt to any patient’s body type.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that the latest version of MRI also reduces the\npatient preparation time before a MRI procedure and provides higher diagnostic\nconfidence and fewer rescans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
