{"id":90536,"date":"2020-09-03T14:03:29","date_gmt":"2020-09-03T06:03:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=90536"},"modified":"2020-09-03T14:09:25","modified_gmt":"2020-09-03T06:09:25","slug":"israel-files-injunctions-to-end-lab-workers-strike-amid-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=90536","title":{"rendered":"Israel Files Injunctions To End Lab Workers&#8217; Strike Amid COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>JERUSALEM, Sept 3 (NNN-MA&#8217;AN) &#8211; Israel&#8217;s Ministry of Health announced last night that, it filed a protective injunction at a labour court, requiring laboratory workers to end the strike launched Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The court is due to hear the ministry&#8217;s request today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Israel&#8217;s lab workers went on strike claiming they have to deal with low wages but high workloads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The strike includes 2,000 workers in 400 labs across Israel, with staff running only life-saving urgent tests, such as tests for critically ill patients, cancer and heart patients, as well as, COVID-19 tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the strikers give only positive results to COVID-19 tests, while those who are found negative will not receive the results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workers also threatened to stop performing COVID-19 tests, if their demands were not met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Health Ministry said, despite several discussions with the workers&#8217; representatives, including proposals for higher wages and better working conditions, no agreement was reached.&#8211; NNN-MA&#8217;AN <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JERUSALEM, Sept 3 (NNN-MA&#8217;AN) &#8211; Israel&#8217;s Ministry of Health announced last night that, it filed a protective injunction at a labour court, requiring laboratory workers to end the strike launched Sunday.
