SINGAPORE, Aug 19\u00a0(NNN-BERNAMA) — Singapore reported an additional 93 cases of\u00a0COVID-19 infection\u00a0in the past 24 hours with six\u00a0of them imported, bringing the total to 56,031.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the brief data released by the republic\u2019s Ministry of Health (MOH) today, all the imported cases had been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based on its investigations so far, the ministry said there were two cases in the community, both being work pass holders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The vast majority of the cases, meanwhile, involve work permit holders currently under quarantine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the full data released late Tuesday, the ministry said there were about 17,900 workers still serving out their quarantine period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As at noon yesterday, the republic had classified 814 of the reported cases as imported, 2,207 as community cases and 52,917 as dorm residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A total of 52,533 patients or about 94 per cent of the cumulative number of cases have fully recovered from the infection and been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, 88 confirmed cases are still in hospital but none in the intensive care unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A total of 3,290 patients who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still tested positive for COVID-19, have been isolated and are being cared for at community facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To date, 27 people have died from complications due to COVID-19 in the republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No new cluster was identified Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
