{"id":87500,"date":"2020-08-13T19:27:54","date_gmt":"2020-08-13T11:27:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=87500"},"modified":"2020-08-13T19:38:58","modified_gmt":"2020-08-13T11:38:58","slug":"eleven-local-infections-among-15-new-covid-19-cases-in-msia-health-dg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=87500","title":{"rendered":"Eleven local infections among 15 new COVID-19 cases in M&#8217;sia &#8211; Health DG"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>PUTRAJAYA, Aug 13\u00a0(NNN-BERNAMA) &#8212; Fifteen new cases of positive COVID-19\u00a0including 11 local transmissions were reported in Malaysia on Thursday, said Health director-general\u00a0Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said this brings the cumulative figure for positive cases to 9,129, including&nbsp;183 active cases with infectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the local transmission cases involved 10 Malaysians &#8212; one from pre-surgery screening at a medical centre in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and nine from the new Tawar&nbsp;cluster in Kedah &#8212; and a foreigner from screening done prior to departure for overseas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere were four imported cases,&nbsp;all involving Malaysians, with three cases in Selangor&nbsp;who returned from Indonesia and one from Yemen (in the FT of Kuala Lumpur),\u201d he told a press conference on COVID-19 here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Four cases had recovered and were discharged Thursday, bringing the cumulative figure for recoveries to&nbsp;&nbsp;8,821, or&nbsp;96.6 per cent of the total number of cases, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Noor Hisham said the COVID-19 death toll remains at 125&nbsp;as no fatalities were reported Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTwo positive cases are still being treated in the intensive care unit and none requires&nbsp;ventilator support,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PUTRAJAYA, Aug 13\u00a0(NNN-BERNAMA) &#8212; Fifteen new cases of positive COVID-19\u00a0including 11 local transmissions were reported in Malaysia on Thursday, said Health director-general\u00a0Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
