{"id":86008,"date":"2020-08-03T13:13:48","date_gmt":"2020-08-03T05:13:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=86008"},"modified":"2020-08-03T13:26:19","modified_gmt":"2020-08-03T05:26:19","slug":"less-than-20-pct-of-areas-in-malaysia-have-poor-internet-access","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=86008","title":{"rendered":"Less than 20 pct of areas in Malaysia have poor internet access"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR,\u00a0 Aug 3\u00a0(NNN-BERNAMA) &#8212;\u00a0\u00a0Less than 20 per cent of areas in the country have very poor internet access, Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister\u00a0 Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, he said in some areas internet access had been&nbsp;disrupted due to criminal acts and vandalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;There used to be coverage in these areas,&nbsp;but all of a sudden&nbsp; service is disrupted as certain parties would dig up the fibre&nbsp;optic cables,&nbsp;steal the copper wiring&nbsp;or standby generators at some communication towers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are trying to overcome these problems while increasing broadband access,&#8221; he said during oral\u00a0question and answer session at the Parliament today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said this in reply to a supplementary question from M.
