SINGAPORE, July 29\u00a0(NNN-BERNAMA) — Singapore has preliminarily reported\u00a0334 new\u00a0cases of COVID-19 infection in the republic today,\u00a0with the\u00a0vast majority of them being migrant\u00a0workers residing\u00a0in dormitories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In brief noon data released here, its Ministry of Health (MOH) said there were three cases in the community involving two Singaporeans or Permanent Residents and a work pass holder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, the ministry said there were four imported cases, who had been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the new figures, the total infection tally for the republic now stands at 51,531 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In its full data released late yesterday, Singapore classified 688 of its cases as imported, 2,168 as community cases and 48,341 as dorm residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As at noon yesterday, 45,893 or about 90 per cent of the total cases have fully recovered from the infection and been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There were 185 confirmed cases still in hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of these, most were stable or improving and no cases were in the intensive care unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A total of 5,092 patients who had symptoms or were clinically well but still tested positive for COVID-19 have been isolated and are being cared for at community facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To date, 27 people have died from complications due to COVID-19 here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No new cluster was identified yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
