{"id":83893,"date":"2020-07-17T14:54:54","date_gmt":"2020-07-17T06:54:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=83893"},"modified":"2020-07-17T14:56:16","modified_gmt":"2020-07-17T06:56:16","slug":"malaysia-virtual-travel-expo-2020-can-help-boost-domestic-tourism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=83893","title":{"rendered":"Malaysia Virtual Travel Expo 2020 Can Help Boost Domestic Tourism"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR, July 17&nbsp;(Bernama) &#8212; The two-day Malaysia Virtual Travel Expo 2020&nbsp;from&nbsp;Aug 22&nbsp;can help boost the country&#8217;s domestic tourism during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) period, said&nbsp;Tourism Malaysia Domestic and&nbsp;Events Division&nbsp;senior director Dr Ammar Abd Ghapar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the online expo using the e-commerce&nbsp;platform is targeting US$281,118 (RM1.2 million) in returns to&nbsp;benefit the 640,000 small and medium-sized&nbsp;entrepreneurs in the tourism industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that due to COVID-19 pandemic, the tourism industry players did not know which direction to head for and the measures they needed to take to reach their customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It is a good effort and a good move to be in this platform (expo), it is designed so that they (entrepreneurs) will&nbsp;not be left behind when it comes to reaching out to potential customers&nbsp;and to conduct their business as usual,&#8221; he said during a press conference at the Malaysia Tourism Centre (MATiC) here Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also hoped that all states would participate in the event&nbsp;and encouraged entrepreneurs to promote their tourism products, including&nbsp;their best holiday packages for domestic destinations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Ammar, the expo would become a one-stop centre&nbsp;where customers can grab the best holiday package deals&nbsp;via the e-commerce platform&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mytravelexpo.com\/\">www.mytravelexpo.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the expo would not only benefit&nbsp;hotel owners, but also other parties involved in the tourism economic chain, such as hotel staff, food suppliers&nbsp;and those from the transportation sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile,&nbsp;Quiton Group chief executive officer&nbsp;Datuk Alvin Ooi&nbsp;said customers who buy holiday packages from the expo will&nbsp;get to enjoy discounts of up to 50 per cent if they pay through the Quinpay digital payment application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that industry players interested in joining the expo could&nbsp;contact&nbsp;QuinPavilion Hotline at 011-37276395 or email to quinpavilion@quintongroup.asia from today (July 16) until Aug&nbsp;1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The expo is organised by Quiton Group, as the main organiser, together with Online Enterprise Development Association and&nbsp;supported by strategic partner Malaysia&nbsp;Tourism Council and Malaysia Budget Hotel Association (MyBHA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212; BERNAMA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KUALA LUMPUR, July 17&nbsp;(Bernama) &#8212; The two-day Malaysia Virtual Travel Expo 2020&nbsp;from&nbsp;Aug 22&nbsp;can help boost the country&#8217;s domestic tourism during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) period, said&nbsp;Tourism Malaysia Domestic and&nbsp;Events Division&nbsp;senior director Dr Ammar Abd Ghapar.
