{"id":83515,"date":"2020-07-15T18:40:38","date_gmt":"2020-07-15T10:40:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=83515"},"modified":"2020-07-15T18:40:40","modified_gmt":"2020-07-15T10:40:40","slug":"five-new-covid-19-cases-involving-four-local-transmissions-health-dg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=83515","title":{"rendered":"Five new COVID-19 cases involving four local transmissions &#8211; Health DG"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 (NNN-BERNAMA) &#8212; Five new COVID-19 cases were reported in Malaysia today, four of which were local transmissions and one imported case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Health director-general\u00a0Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said this brought the total number of cases to\u00a08,734, with the number of active cases with capacity to infect at 86.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the imported case involved a foreigner allowed to enter Malaysia for work purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for the local transmission cases, one involved a citizen screened as symptomatic in Kuching, Sarawak and who has been admitted to the Sarawak General Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the other three cases, one was detected during pre-surgery screening at Sungai Buloh Hospital, Selangor, one was detected in Sarawak during the screening of close contact to case 8,732, and the final case during a screening of healthcare workers at a medical centre, he said in a statement here today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Noor Hisham said no deaths were recorded today and the death toll due to the disease in Malaysia remained at&nbsp;122.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said two cases had recovered and discharged today, bringing the cumulative number for recoveries to&nbsp;&nbsp;8,526, or&nbsp;97.6 per cent of the total number of cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Five positive cases are still being treated in the Intensive Care Unit, with one requiring ventilator support, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212; NNN-BERNAMA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 (NNN-BERNAMA) &#8212; Five new COVID-19 cases were reported in Malaysia today, four of which were local transmissions and one imported case.
