KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (NNN-BERNAMA) —\u00a0Malaysia Airlines Bhd and Japan Airlines (JAL) are set to launch a joint business partnership on July 25, 2020 where the two carriers will cooperate commercially on flights between two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through this partnership, MAB and JAL will take on new challenges to further enhance convenience between Japan and Malaysia and allow customers to benefit from more flight choices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith MAB resuming flights to Japan starting July, the two airlines combined will offer four weekly services between Kuala Lumpur-Tokyo Narita in July and August,\u201d both airlines said in a joint statement Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This initiative will enable both MAB and JAL to enhance their capabilities and leverage on each other\u2019s strengths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Malaysia Airlines Group chief executive officer Captain Izham Ismail said MAB is excited the partnership is finally taking off after a few months of delay due to travel restrictions between both countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe look forward to the bilateral discussions between the governments of Malaysia and Japan to establish a travel bubble between the two countries, which will ease restrictions for cross-border travel,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, JAL president Yuji Akasaka said the expanded relationship will allow both airlines to ensure the highest standards of safety and hygiene for its mutual customers\u2019 peace of mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
