ADDIS ABABA, Feb 11 (NNN-WAFA) \u2013 President Mahmoud Abbas held separate talks in Addis Ababa with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg and Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi during which he briefed them on the latest political developments related to Palestine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also briefed them on the Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, holy places and land in the occupied territories, as well as schemes aimed to undermine Palestinian aspirations for independence such as the upcoming Warsaw conference called for by the United States and which is boycotted by the Palestinians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abbas was in the Ethiopian capital to attend the 32nd Ordinary Session of the African Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0In his address to the summit, Abbas called on the African Union and its member states to support the idea of an international peace conference and to participate in it and to send observers to the general elections that will be held soon in Palestine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abbas warned against Israel\u2019s attempts to change the character and identity of the city of Jerusalem, and its call on some states to transfer their embassies to it, which contravenes international law and Security Council resolutions, specifically resolution 478 of 1980.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President said that those who encourage Israel to act as a state above international law are the American administration, which is no longer competent to take care of the negotiations alone after it proved its bias to the Israelis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He emphasized that the struggle against colonialism, racism and injustice and the affirmation of the right of peoples to self-determination are common issues between Palestine and the peoples of the African continent, stressing his rejection of any American intervention in the affairs of any country, as it\u2019s happening now in Venezuela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President stressed his rejection and condemnation of all forms of terrorism and extremism in the name of the religion that targets some African capitals, such as the one that took place in the Kenyan capital Nairobi last month. — NNN-WAFA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
