SINGAPORE, June 17\u00a0(NNN-BERNAMA) — Singapore\u00a0has preliminarily confirmed an additional 247\u00a0cases of COVID-19 infection in\u00a0the last 24 hours, with the vast majority being\u00a0migrant\u00a0workers residing in dormitories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the latest infection figure, the tally now stands at 41,216 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based on its investigations so far, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in a statement that there were only five infections in the community, involving two Singaporeans or permanent residents and three work pass holders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In full data released late yesterday, Singapore classified 1,801 as community cases, 581 as imported cases and 38,587 as foreign workers in dorms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As at noon yesterday, 31,163 or about 76 per cent of the total number of patients have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There were 269 confirmed cases still in hospital yesterday with two in critical condition in the intensive care unit, said the ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It noted that 9,511 who have mild symptoms or clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19 have been isolated and cared for at community facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So far, 26 have died from complications due to COVID-19 infection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There were no new clusters identified yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
