{"id":7699,"date":"2019-02-08T17:02:54","date_gmt":"2019-02-08T09:02:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=7699"},"modified":"2019-02-08T17:02:56","modified_gmt":"2019-02-08T09:02:56","slug":"rm9-4-million-penalty-imposed-on-myeg-for-infringing-the-competition-act-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=7699","title":{"rendered":"RM9.4 Million Penalty Imposed On MyEG For Infringing The Competition Act 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 (Bernama) &#8212;&nbsp;<\/strong>The Malaysia Competition Commission&nbsp;(\u201cMyCC\u201d) wishes to state on record that as of the date of this press release, MyEG&nbsp;has continuously been in non-compliance with the decision of the Competition&nbsp;Appeal Tribunal (\u201cCAT\u201d) dated 28 December 2018 which affirmed MyCC\u2019s decision&nbsp;dated 24 June 2016 (\u201cCAT Decision\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon the dismissal of MyEG\u2019s Judicial Review application by the High Court on 22\u00a0January 2019, MyCC has instructed its solicitors to demand compliance with the\u00a0remedial orders as set out in paragraphs 58 (iii) and 58 (iv) of the CAT Decision and\u00a0for the payment of the daily penalty. The daily penalty of RM7,500.00 will continue to\u00a0accumulate until compliance by MyEG with the directives imposed by the CAT in\u00a0paragraph 58 of the CAT Decision.
