{"id":72560,"date":"2020-05-02T00:33:15","date_gmt":"2020-05-01T16:33:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=72560"},"modified":"2020-05-02T00:33:17","modified_gmt":"2020-05-01T16:33:17","slug":"rapid-rail-bus-services-back-to-normal-operating-hours-starting-monday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=72560","title":{"rendered":"Rapid rail, bus services back to normal operating hours starting Monday"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR, May 1 (NNN-BERNAMA) &#8212;\u00a0Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana),\u00a0the operator of the Rapid Rail,\u00a0stage bus and the Rapid Ferry services, will revert to the normal operating hours of 6 am to\u00a0midnight when the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) takes effect on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This followed&nbsp;Prime Minister Tan Sri&nbsp;Muhyiddin&nbsp;Yassin&#8217;s&nbsp;announcement today of the government&#8217;s intention to reopen the nation&#8217;s economic sector in stages from May 4, subject to tight conditions and&nbsp;procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prasarana Group chief operating officer (Operations) Muhammad Nizam Alias said, in line with this, to encourage social distancing in trains and buses, the peak travel hours are extended from 7 am to 11 am in the morning and from 4 pm to 7 pm for the peak hours in the evening for all services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This means higher frequency of trains during these periods,&#8221; he said in the statement, today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to him, the frequency for the morning and evening peak hours for the Kelana Jaya LRT line has been set at a three-minute interval,&nbsp;Ampang\/Sri Petaling LRT line was set at six-minute interval, Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT service has a peak frequency of four-minute and the monorail service operates at a frequency of six minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) also said it will resume a limited service schedule starting Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ERL, in a&nbsp;statement here today, said they would also combine the KLIA Ekspress and KLIA Transit services into one from 6 am to 11 pm every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTrains will run every 20 minutes during peak hours on weekdays, and every 30 minutes during off-peak hours, weekends and national public holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDuring the month of Ramadan, the afternoon peak hours will be adjusted to the 4 pm until 6 pm time band to allow plenty of time for the public to travel home safely for the breaking-of-fast and there will be no train services before 6 am and after the last train departure at 11 pm,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement also said that journey time between KL Sentral and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) would be 35 minutes (KLIA2: 39 min) and at KL Sentral, all departures and arrivals would&nbsp;be through the KLIA Transit Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the limited service schedule would&nbsp;be carried out for a month and it will be reviewed and adjusted if necessary to suit the growing passenger ridership, the statement added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;NNN-BERNAMA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KUALA LUMPUR, May 1 (NNN-BERNAMA) &#8212;\u00a0Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana),\u00a0the operator of the Rapid Rail,\u00a0stage bus and the Rapid Ferry services, will revert to the normal operating hours of 6 am to\u00a0midnight when the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) takes effect on Monday.
