{"id":7103,"date":"2019-02-05T11:14:37","date_gmt":"2019-02-05T03:14:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=7103"},"modified":"2019-02-12T07:48:54","modified_gmt":"2019-02-11T23:48:54","slug":"maduro-calls-for-peace-non-intervention-from-us","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=7103","title":{"rendered":"Maduro Calls For Peace, Non-intervention From US"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>CARACAS, FEB 5 (NNN-TELESUR) &#8211; During his national tour Venezuelan President Maduro says: &#8216;I will defend this threatened country with my life.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro continued collecting signatures from citizens from across the country for a petition calling for peace and non-intervention on behalf of United States President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During a speech&nbsp;Monday&nbsp;at&nbsp;the Day of National Dignity commemoration and the 27th anniversary of the military rebellion of 4F (Feb.&nbsp;4, 1992), Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro swore before authorities, civilians and military that he will defend the homeland with his life against the coup d&#8217;etat that is hovering over the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I swear, 27 years after the awakening of our country that I will be loyal now and forever with dreams of independence and dignity, I swear that I will defend this threatened country with my life and will give peace and victory to the people,&#8221; assured the president<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the early hours of the morning President Maduro along with president of the National Constituent Assembly, Diosdado Cabello and Minister of Defense&nbsp;Vladimir Padrino Lopez, marched through the streets of the city of Maracay in Aragua state and gave a speech at the historical Cuartel Paez military barracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Hago un llamado a los gobiernos dignos e independientes del mundo, para que manifiesten su rechazo a las virulentas amenazas que hace Donald Trump contra Venezuela, acci\u00f3n que viola la Carta de las Naciones Unidas y los derechos internacionales. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7N9Prk4gbT\">pic.twitter.com\/7N9Prk4gbT<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Nicol\u00e1s Maduro (@NicolasMaduro) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NicolasMaduro\/status\/1092497399942180865?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 4, 2019<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are never going to give up our country. We will never surrender&nbsp;the Republic&nbsp;toYankee imperialism or any&nbsp;others&nbsp;try to step upon&nbsp;this soil&nbsp;disrespectfully. This town will never surrender&nbsp;\u2014&nbsp;it is the land of Bolivar,&#8221; said the head of state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also called on the people to stand firm &#8220;in permanent&nbsp;demonstration&nbsp;of conscience.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maduro said: &#8220;We are subjected&nbsp;to a great psychological war, every day and every night.&#8221; He encouraged those gathered to maintain &#8220;nerves of steel, calm and sanity, moral strength, conscience and demonstration to fulfill your role and mission.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Message to Pedro Sanchez<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday morning the Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that the government officially recognized lawmaker of the National Assembly Juan Guaido as interim president of Venezuela. The National Assembly has been in contempt since 2016.
