KUCHING, Mar 31 (NNN-BERNAMA) – Forty-six more individuals were detained for breaching the Movement Control Order (MCO) throughout Sarawak, in operations conducted from 8.00 am yesterday to 8.00 am today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sarawak Deputy Police Commissioner, Datuk Dev Kumar M.M. Sree said, with the latest arrests, the total number of people detained for defying MCO in the state since last week have risen to 276.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMiri has the most offenders with 12 people, followed by Kuching (9), Sibu (8), Saratok (3), Padawan (2), Kota Samarahan (2), Sri Aman (2), Limbang (2), Dalat (2), Bintulu (1), Serian (1), Lawas (1) and Sarikei (1),\u201d he said in a statement today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Dev Kumar said today, 83 people were charged in court for breaking the order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAmong the districts, Sibu leads with 31 individuals, followed by Padawan (13), Miri (7), Dalat (7), Sarikei (6), Lawas (6), Matu Daro (6), Kuching (4), Kota Samarahan (2) and Bintulu (1),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All the offenders were detained under Section 186 of the Penal Code and Regulation 7(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within The Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2020,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
