{"id":6337,"date":"2019-01-30T13:05:48","date_gmt":"2019-01-30T05:05:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/10.0.5.12\/nnn\/?p=6337"},"modified":"2019-01-30T13:05:50","modified_gmt":"2019-01-30T05:05:50","slug":"yemeni-government-seeks-to-unfreeze-bank-accounts-in-foreign-countries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=6337","title":{"rendered":"Yemeni Government Seeks To Unfreeze Bank Accounts In Foreign Countries"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>           <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ADEN, Yemen, Jan 30 (NNN-SABA) &#8211; The Saudi-backed Yemeni government, started Tuesday, talks with foreign diplomatic missions, in an attempt to unfreeze its bank accounts, being frozen abroad, as a result of the country&#8217;s conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the southern port city of Aden, Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY), Mohammad Zimam, discussed with German Ambassador to Yemen, Carola Muller, measures of re-opening CBY&#8217;s accounts, frozen by some German banks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the meeting, Deputy Governor of the CBY for foreign banking operations, Hussein Quaiti, said that, releasing frozen accounts will help Yemen&#8217;s central bank in paying its euro payment commitments, in addition to resuming cooperation between Yemeni and German banks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>German banks were paying Yemen euro-paid commitment, in accordance with a financial agreement signed between Yemen&#8217;s Central Bank and Germany, previously, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The German ambassador also met with the country&#8217;s Prime Minister, Maeen Abdulmalik and discussed key financial issues and the suitable ways to support the war-torn Arab country, economically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Muller confirmed that she had communicated with German banks, regarding the unfreezing of Yemeni bank accounts, and is waiting for the response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The internal military conflict between the Houthis and the Saudi-backed Yemeni government, recently entered its fourth year, aggravating the suffering of Yemenis and deepening the world&#8217;s worst humanitarian crisis.&#8211; NNN-SABA <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ADEN, Yemen, Jan 30 (NNN-SABA) &#8211; The Saudi-backed Yemeni government, started Tuesday, talks with foreign diplomatic missions, in an attempt to unfreeze its bank accounts, being frozen abroad, as a result of the country&#8217;s conflict.
