{"id":6301,"date":"2019-01-30T10:43:21","date_gmt":"2019-01-30T02:43:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/10.0.5.12\/nnn\/?p=6301"},"modified":"2019-02-02T10:45:06","modified_gmt":"2019-02-02T02:45:06","slug":"resorts-world-las-vegas-wynn-resorts-reach-settlement-on-design-infringement-claims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=6301","title":{"rendered":"Resorts World Las Vegas, Wynn Resorts reach settlement on design infringement claims"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 30&nbsp;(Bernama) &#8212; Genting Bhd\u2019s Resorts World Las Vegas (RWLV) and Wynn Resorts have reached a settlement agreement on a dispute involving trade dress and copyright infringement claims <g class=\"gr_ gr_5 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace\" id=\"5\" data-gr-id=\"5\">surrounding<\/g> the design of the $4 billion (about RM16.43 billion) RWLV project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RWLV is an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Genting Bhd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGenting\u2019s Resorts World Las Vegas project will be the launching point for the next generation of integrated resorts, and the aesthetics of the project will play an important role in its future success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhile the company believes the design to have had differences with Wynn and Encore\u2019s once fully realised, after further consideration and conversations with the Wynn team, we have directed our design team to make several changes that will clearly differentiate the two properties,\u201d Senior Vice President of Public Affairs &amp; Development, Genting,&nbsp;&nbsp;Michael Levoff said in the joint statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This mutually beneficial settlement will allow Genting to continue to develop Resorts World Las Vegas with minimal impact to cost and the overall project timeline.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWynn Resorts\u2019 world-renowned signature architecture and design are among the elements that have built our brand\u2019s reputation for excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cResorts World Las Vegas\u2019 initial design had elements which had similarity to our resorts in Las Vegas, Macau and Boston.
