{"id":59482,"date":"2020-01-23T11:52:12","date_gmt":"2020-01-23T03:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=59482"},"modified":"2020-01-23T12:02:55","modified_gmt":"2020-01-23T04:02:55","slug":"flight-operations-resume-at-changi-airport-after-a-short-disruption","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=59482","title":{"rendered":"Flight operations resume at Changi Airport after a short disruption"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5>By Massita Ahmad<br><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>SINGAPORE, Jan 23 (NNN-BERNAMA) &#8212; Flight operations at Singapore&#8217;s\u00a0\u00a0Changi Airport were disrupted at 12.10 am Thursday due to evacuation at the Changi Control Tower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to&nbsp; the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the Tower had to be evacuated as the fire suppression system was activated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CAAS said flight operations were restored at 1.40 am&nbsp;when Changi Control Tower resumed operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn the interim, air traffic control services were provided from back up positions,\u201d CAAS said in its Facebook page at 5 am Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During this period, CAAS said 50 departure flights were delayed by 30 minutes or more and nine arriving flights were diverted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere was no fire.
