{"id":57049,"date":"2020-01-01T11:24:16","date_gmt":"2020-01-01T03:24:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=57049"},"modified":"2020-01-01T11:25:55","modified_gmt":"2020-01-01T03:25:55","slug":"arab-league-to-hold-emergency-meeting-on-libyan-situation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=57049","title":{"rendered":"Arab League To Hold Emergency Meeting On Libyan Situation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>CAIRO, Jan 1 (NNN-MENA) &#8211; The Arab League announced that, an emergency meeting will be held, to discuss the situation in war-torn Libya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement, the organisation said, Egypt called for the meeting, as Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, announced that, his country would send troops to Libya, at the request of the UN-backed Libyan government. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Libya has been locked in a civil war, splitting power between two rival governments: the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA), based in the capital Tripoli, and another in the northeastern city of Tobruk, which is allied with the self-proclaimed Libyan National Army (LNA), led by Khalifa Haftar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, France and Russia support Haftar&#8217;s LNA, while the GNA is backed by Turkey and Qatar, as well as Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haftar has been leading a military campaign since early Apr, in and around Tripoli, attempting to take over the city and topple the UN-backed government.&#8211; NNN-MENA  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CAIRO, Jan 1 (NNN-MENA) &#8211; The Arab League announced that, an emergency meeting will be held, to discuss the situation in war-torn Libya.
