{"id":56399,"date":"2019-12-27T08:41:22","date_gmt":"2019-12-27T00:41:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=56399"},"modified":"2019-12-27T08:55:28","modified_gmt":"2019-12-27T00:55:28","slug":"russia-u-s-to-mull-cooperation-on-moon-orbit-station","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=56399","title":{"rendered":"Russia, U.S. To Mull Cooperation On Moon Orbit Station"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>MOSCOW, Dec 27 (NNN-TASS) &#8211; Representatives of Russian state space corporation, Roscosmos, and the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), will meet &#8220;closer to spring,&#8221; to discuss Russia&#8217;s joining the Lunar Gateway project, Roscosmos head, Dmitry Rogozin, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Russia could contribute a backup transport system, since &#8220;you never know what can happen, if there is only one,&#8221; Rogozin was quoted as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2017, Roscosmos and NASA signed a joint statement, supporting research that could lead to the construction of a lunar orbital station, but later Roscosmos refused to participate over certain disagreements with NASA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NASA said, it is working with its partners, to design and develop a small spaceship that will orbit the Moon called the Gateway, which will be a temporary home and office for astronauts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Aug, the Multilateral Coordination Board of the International Space Station issued a statement, in which Roscosmos &#8220;anticipates providing a multi-purpose crew airlock module for Gateway.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Wednesday, Rogozin said, Roscosmos confirmed to NASA its readiness to discuss Russia&#8217;s participation in the project.&#8211; NNN-TASS  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MOSCOW, Dec 27 (NNN-TASS) &#8211; Representatives of Russian state space corporation, Roscosmos, and the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), will meet &#8220;closer to spring,&#8221; to discuss Russia&#8217;s joining the Lunar Gateway project, Roscosmos head, Dmitry Rogozin, said.
