SINGAPORE, Dec 9 (NNN-BERNAMA) — The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has revoked the bunker supplier licence of Inter-Pacific Petroleum Pte Ltd effective today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement here, MPA said Inter-Pacific would\u00a0cease to operate as a bunker supplier in the Port of Singapore. The license allows bunker suppliers to operate tankers used to load marine fuel, known as bunker fuel, onto ships, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to MPA, Inter-Pacific has\u00a0filed for judicial management at the Singapore High Court and a judicial manager has been appointed.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Judicial management is a form of debt restructuring that involves the appointment of an external party to manage the business and properties of a company. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith the appointment of the judicial manager, Inter-Pacific has failed to meet the terms and conditions of the bunker supplier licence, leading to the revocation of the licence,\u201d said MPA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This follows MPA\u2019s earlier revocation of Inter-Pacific\u2019s bunker craft operator licence on Oct 15 due to bunkering malpractices, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The maritime agency reminded all bunker licensees to adhere strictly to the terms and conditions of their licences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“MPA takes a serious view of contraventions of the licence terms and conditions, and will suspend or revoke the relevant licence(s) where necessary,” it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
