{"id":52172,"date":"2019-11-26T15:23:47","date_gmt":"2019-11-26T07:23:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=52172"},"modified":"2019-11-26T15:26:20","modified_gmt":"2019-11-26T07:26:20","slug":"israel-soldiers-detain-13-year-old-palestinian-boy-lead-him-around-hebron-blindfolded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=52172","title":{"rendered":"Israeli Soldiers Detain 13-Year-Old Palestinian Boy, Lead Him Around Hebron Blindfolded"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>HEBRON, Palestine, Nov 26 (NNN-MEM) &#8211; Israeli occupation forces, detained a 13-year-old Palestinian child, then led him around Hebron city blindfolded, reported human rights NGO, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.btselem.org\/video\/20191121_soldiers_detain_boy_in_hebron_and_lead_him_blindfolded_through_the_streets#full\" target=\"_blank\">B\u2019Tselem<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The incident occurred on the morning of Nov 3, when soldiers seized \u2018Abd a-Razeq Idris, 13, from the Abu Jales neighbourhood of the occupied West Bank city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As related by B\u2019Tselem, the soldiers put the boy in a jeep, \u201cblindfolded him and drove him around,\u201d then took him to another neighbourhood, roughly one km from his home, \u201cwhere they took him out of the jeep and walked him, blindfolded, through the streets.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI was really scared and didn\u2019t understand what was going on. I sat in the jeep and didn\u2019t say a word. One of the soldiers slapped and kicked me. He spoke to me in Hebrew, so I couldn\u2019t understand what he was saying,\u201d \u2018Abd a-Razeq Idris told a B\u2019Tselem researcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the boy\u2019s father arrived, the soldiers refused to release him and instead drove him to a military post, based in Kiryat Arba settlement \u2013 despite telling the father they were taking him to a police station. \u2018Abd a-Razeq was \u201casked about stone-throwers and they later sent him home alone\u201d at around 2.00 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy mom was really worried, and when I got home, she and my grandma hugged me and cried. I didn\u2019t do anything, and I didn\u2019t throw any stones. I have no idea what the soldiers wanted from me,\u201d said \u2018Abd a-Razeq Idris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to B\u2019Tselem, \u201cthis case is no aberration\u201d but rather \u201cpart of the routine violence, imposed on Palestinians in Hebron\u201d by Israeli forces and settlers, \u201cincluding physical attacks, threats, verbal abuse, soldiers\u2019 incursions into homes (usually at night) \u2013 and the false arrest of minors and adults.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While \u201cIsrael cites security to justify this conduct, and the segregation it imposes on the city,\u201d B\u2019Tselem described such claims as \u201cbaseless\u201d and \u201cserve merely to bolster a policy of driving Palestinians to leave Hebron, by making their daily life unbearable.\u201d&#8211; NNN-MEM <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HEBRON, Palestine, Nov 26 (NNN-MEM) &#8211; Israeli occupation forces, detained a 13-year-old Palestinian child, then led him around Hebron city blindfolded, reported human rights NGO, B\u2019Tselem.
