{"id":50080,"date":"2019-11-12T15:01:42","date_gmt":"2019-11-12T07:01:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=50080"},"modified":"2019-11-12T15:07:36","modified_gmt":"2019-11-12T07:07:36","slug":"at-least-six-soldiers-killed-20-wounded-in-a-clash-in-central-philippines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=50080","title":{"rendered":"At Least Six Soldiers Killed, 20 Wounded In A Clash In Central Philippines"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>MANILA, Nov 12 (NNN-PNA) &#8211; At least six soldiers were killed, and 20 others wounded, in a clash between Philippine security forces and rebels, in Eastern Samar province, in the central Philippines, police said today Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The police said, a New People&#8217;s Army (NPA) rebel was also killed, in the 30-minute fighting that broke out around 5:00 p.m. local time on Monday, while troops were conducting combat operations in Pinana-an, a village near Borongan town in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the police, six improvised explosive devices went off prior to the encounter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The military has yet to issue a report about the encounter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Philippine President, Rodrigo Duterte, has ordered the military to end the decades of NPA insurgency within his term, which will end in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NPA rebels have been fighting the government since 1969.
