{"id":49796,"date":"2019-11-10T14:25:49","date_gmt":"2019-11-10T06:25:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=49796"},"modified":"2019-11-10T14:31:07","modified_gmt":"2019-11-10T06:31:07","slug":"12-year-old-girl-survives-crocodile-attack-in-philippines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=49796","title":{"rendered":"12-Year-Old Girl Survives Crocodile Attack In Philippines"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>MANILA, Nov 10 (NNN-PNA) &#8211; A 12-year-old girl survived a crocodile attack, in Balabac town, in the Philippines, early on Friday night, police reported. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police Captain, Ric Ramos of the Palawan Provincial Police Office, said, a saltwater crocodile bit the girl&#8217;s lower right leg, while she was crossing a coconut tree bridge in Catagupan village, in Balabac, the southernmost island of Palawan province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Ramos, the girl and her brother were headed to their grandmother&#8217;s house, when the attack took place around 6:30 p.m. The brother managed to pull and save his sister from going underwater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police said it was the sixth crocodile attack in the town this year. Of the six, four were killed, while two survived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A number of villagers have been attacked by crocodiles in Balabac town since 2017, police added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Environmentalists blamed the attacks on the people&#8217;s intrusion into the mangroves, the natural habitat of saltwater crocodiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Balabac, located about 30 kilometres southwest of the southern tip of Palawan province, is home to many saltwater crocodiles.&#8211; NNN-PNA  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA, Nov 10 (NNN-PNA) &#8211; A 12-year-old girl survived a crocodile attack, in Balabac town, in the Philippines, early on Friday night, police reported.
