{"id":48950,"date":"2019-11-05T08:38:37","date_gmt":"2019-11-05T00:38:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=48950"},"modified":"2019-11-05T08:53:28","modified_gmt":"2019-11-05T00:53:28","slug":"east-african-troops-start-joint-military-training-in-eastern-uganda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=48950","title":{"rendered":"East African Troops Start Joint Military Training In Eastern Uganda"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KAMPALA, Nov 5 (NNN-IRIN) &#8211; Over 360 personnel from the six East African Community (EAC) member countries, began a two-week joint military training exercise, in the eastern Ugandan district of Jinja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deo Akiiki, Uganda&#8217;s deputy military spokesperson, said that, the EAC joint Command Post Exercise (CPX), aims to promote regional integration agenda, inter-operability of the region&#8217;s armed forces, and to improve their readiness in responding to complex security challenges in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 12th edition of CPX, dubbed Ushirikiano Imara 2019, attracted military, police, prisons, immigration personnel and key civilian stakeholders from Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, Kenya and South Sudan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CPX is conducted under the framework of the EAC protocol on cooperation in defence affairs, one of the interventions aimed at promoting regional integration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the protocol, the partner states agreed to cooperate in all defence affairs and collaborate with international and regional organisations to promote peace, security and stability in the community.&#8211; NNN-IRIN  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KAMPALA, Nov 5 (NNN-IRIN) &#8211; Over 360 personnel from the six East African Community (EAC) member countries, began a two-week joint military training exercise, in the eastern Ugandan district of Jinja.
