{"id":48804,"date":"2019-11-03T14:04:37","date_gmt":"2019-11-03T06:04:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=48804"},"modified":"2019-11-03T14:23:42","modified_gmt":"2019-11-03T06:23:42","slug":"25-die-of-cholera-epidemic-in-southern-yemen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=48804","title":{"rendered":"25 Die Of Cholera Epidemic In Southern Yemen"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>ADEN, Nov 3 (NNN-SABA) &#8211; Around 25 people died of cholera and acute watery diarrhea, in Yemen&#8217;s southern port city of Lahj, during the past two months, a medical source said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The source of Lahj&#8217;s Health Department, said that, &#8220;there is an increase in the death cases in Lahj, as a result of cholera and acute watery diarrhea, in recent months.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that the emergency statistics at the Health Department of Lahj indicated that, nearly 4,500 people are affected with cholera, according to medical tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cholera epidemic, largely hits rural areas and villages, in the southern province of Lahj, due to the lack of health care there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The health sector has been badly affected by the war in Yemen, which allowed the spread of cholera and other infectious diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cholera in Yemen has set the world&#8217;s highest record with infection of over one million people and over 2,000 have been confirmed dead since 2017, according to WHO.&#8211; NNN-SABA  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ADEN, Nov 3 (NNN-SABA) &#8211; Around 25 people died of cholera and acute watery diarrhea, in Yemen&#8217;s southern port city of Lahj, during the past two months, a medical source said.
