\u201cI believe there is room for further cooperation not only in the area of news, but we are also interested in co-production (of) programmes with other broadcasters in Malaysia including Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen we talk about co-production (of) programmes, it is not only news but also dramas, annual documentaries, and movies as well,\u201d he said during his official visit to Bernama headquarters, here, today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pyo also thanked Bernama for producing \u2018Hallyu Korea\u2019, a radio programme on air every Monday at 4pm, which discusses Korea’s success through its innovations in areas such as technology, entertainment and art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the visit, both parties also talked about fake news and its challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pyo noted that the development of the Internet has significantly sped the spread of fake news, making it more important for the speed of accurate reporting to go up in order to be ahead of fake news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKCC is greatly concerned about this issue and we are researching how other countries around the world are responding to fake news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn South Korea\u2019s largest university, we (have) created a centre where 27 media agencies are participating to conduct research on fake news; it is not on a large scale but it is taking steps in response (to fake news),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The delegates also paid a visit to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) today and are scheduled to return to South Korea tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Pyo said the ASEAN – Republic of Korea (ROK) Commemorative Summit will be held in Busan on Nov 25 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the ASEAN-ROK Dialogue Partnership which was established in 1989.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the Summit, the Korean government expects to meet all representatives from ASEAN countries to discuss the development of cooperative relations, including aspects of communication between Korea and the participating countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
