Photo courtesy of BERNAMA.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI believe there is room for further cooperation not only in the area of news, but we are also interested in co-production (of) programmes with other broadcasters in Malaysia including Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen we talk about co-production (of) programmes, it is not only news but also dramas, annual&nbsp;documentaries, and movies as well,\u201d he said during his official visit to Bernama headquarters, here, today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pyo also thanked Bernama for producing \u2018Hallyu Korea\u2019, a radio programme on air every Monday at 4pm, which&nbsp;discusses&nbsp;Korea&#8217;s success through its innovations in areas such as technology, entertainment and art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the visit, both parties also talked about fake news and its challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pyo noted that the development of the Internet has significantly&nbsp;sped&nbsp;the spread of fake news, making it more important for the speed of accurate reporting to go up in order to be ahead of fake news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKCC is greatly concerned&nbsp;about this issue&nbsp;and we are researching how other countries around the world are responding to fake news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn South Korea\u2019s largest university, we (have) created a centre where 27 media agencies are participating to conduct research on fake news; it is not on a large scale but it is taking steps in response (to fake news),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The delegates also paid a visit to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) today and are scheduled to return to South Korea tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Pyo said the&nbsp;ASEAN&nbsp;&#8211; Republic of Korea (ROK) Commemorative Summit will be held in Busan on&nbsp;Nov 25&nbsp;to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the ASEAN-ROK Dialogue Partnership&nbsp;which was established in 1989.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the Summit, the Korean government expects to meet all representatives from ASEAN countries to discuss&nbsp;the development&nbsp;of cooperative relations, including aspects of communication between Korea and the participating countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;NNN-BERNAMA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Tengku Faezah Tengku Yusof KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31 (NNN-BERNAMA) &#8212; The Korea Communications Commission (KCC) wishes to strengthen cooperation between Malaysia and Korea through various media platforms, said the agency&#8217;s Standing Commissioner Pyo Chul Soo.
