ADEN, Oct 27 (NNN-SABA) – Yemen’s Information Minister, Muammar Iryani, announced that, the Saudi-sponsored deal between the country’s government and the Southern Transitional Council (STC), would be formally signed within two days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Yemeni minister said, the formal signing ceremony between representatives of the two pro-Saudi political parties will occur, during the upcoming two days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It’s expected to address the event positively, away from political rivalries, as a pivotal and important step to unite ranks and direct all efforts in the battle of salvation, from the Iranian-backed Houthi militia,” Iryani said, in his statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Yemeni minister praised the role of neighbouring oil-rich Saudi Arabia, that hosted the Yemeni political parties and encouraged them to reach this deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Thursday, the Yemeni government initially signed the first draft of a deal that includes forming a power-sharing government with the STC, following several weeks of indirect talks between the two sides, in the Saudi Red Sea city of Jeddah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Yemeni source said, the deal also stipulated that the power-sharing government will operate from the southern port city of Aden, the country’s interim capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The STC is part of the Saudi-led Arab coalition to fight Iran-backed Houthi militias in northern Yemen.– NNN-SABA <\/p>\n\n\n\n
