CAIRO, Oct 23 (NNN-MENA) – Egypt’s Foreign Ministry, expressed great concern, over the remarks made by Ethiopia<\/a>‘s Prime Minister,<\/a> Abiy Ahmed, regarding his country’s readiness to use force, if the need arises, in order to resolve disputes over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam<\/a> (GERD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media<\/a> quoted Abiy Ahmed as saying, during a parliament<\/a> question-and-answer session, that his country was ready to go to war, if needed, to defend its dam<\/a> project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“[The] reaction leaves Egypt<\/a> perplexed, as it is inappropriate to bring up a rhetoric that includes military options, which makes Egypt<\/a> confused, as Ahmed’s alleged remarks clearly violate the principals and the very law spirit of the African Union, especially since Egypt<\/a>‘s approach of the issue has always been only based on negotiation, in accordance with International law,” Egypt<\/a>‘s Foreign Ministry said.– NNN-MENA <\/p>\n\n\n\n
