{"id":46515,"date":"2019-10-15T20:18:40","date_gmt":"2019-10-15T12:18:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=46515"},"modified":"2019-10-15T20:18:42","modified_gmt":"2019-10-15T12:18:42","slug":"thailand-to-observe-public-holidays-in-bangkok-nonthaburi-during-asean-summit-in-november","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=46515","title":{"rendered":"Thailand to observe public holidays in Bangkok, Nonthaburi during ASEAN Summit in November"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5>By Linda Khoo<br><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>BANGKOK, Oct 15 (NNN-BERNAMA) \u2013 Thailand today announced special public holidays on Nov\u00a04 and 5 in Bangkok and Nonthaburi in conjunction with the\u00a035th ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings to be held at Impact Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As ASEAN chair, Thailand will be welcoming leaders from 10 ASEAN member&nbsp;countries and its dialogue&nbsp;partners.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 35th ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings will be held from Oct 31 to Nov 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thailand\u2019s deputy government spokeswoman, Traisuree Taisaranakul said the cabinet today endorsed the two-day special public holiday&nbsp;during the summit aimed at easing traffic congestion in the capital and facilitating travel for the leaders and delegates during the summit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGovernment agencies in Bangkok and Nonthaburi will be closed on these dates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHowever, state enterprises, commercial banks and private companies will decide later, whether to close or postpone the public holidays to avoid disruption of&nbsp;their services,\u201d she said at a press conference, here, today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, government spokeswoman, Narumon Pinyosinwat said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has\u00a0confirmed his attendance at the upcoming ASEAN Summit, while United States President Donald Trump and China\u2019s Premier Li Keqiang have yet to confirm their attendance.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NNN-BERNAMA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Linda Khoo BANGKOK, Oct 15 (NNN-BERNAMA) \u2013 Thailand today announced special public holidays on Nov\u00a04 and 5 in Bangkok and Nonthaburi in conjunction with the\u00a035th ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings to be held at Impact Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok.
