CAIRO, Oct 11 (NNN-MENA) – Egyptian President, Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, reiterated Egypt’s rejection of the recent Turkish offensive in northern Syria, warning, it would undermine regional security and stability, the Egyptian presidential spokesman said, in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sisi’s remarks came, during his talks in Cairo, with visiting King Abdullah of Jordan, where they discussed bilateral ties and regional issues of mutual concern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“President Sisi warned of the negative repercussions of the Turkish offensive on Syria’s unity, its regional integrity and the course of the political process in Syria,” said Egypt’s presidential spokesman, Bassam Rady.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Egyptian president stressed that, Turkey’s move is a violation of Syria’s sovereignty, as well as, the rules of international law and legitimacy, according to Rady.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Sisi and King Abdullah agreed on the necessity of reaching “a comprehensive political settlement, to put an end to the suffering of the Syrian people and maintain the unity and cohesion of Syria.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
