{"id":45177,"date":"2019-10-06T12:39:57","date_gmt":"2019-10-06T04:39:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=45177"},"modified":"2019-10-06T12:48:07","modified_gmt":"2019-10-06T04:48:07","slug":"australia-releases-detained-iranian-student","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=45177","title":{"rendered":"Australia Releases Detained Iranian Student"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>TEHRAN, Oct 6 (NNN-IRNA) &#8211; An Iranian research student, detained 13 months ago in Australia, on charges of exporting military equipment to Iran, is now back in Tehran, Press TV reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reza Dehbashi Kivi, 38-year-old Iranian PhD student, at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, was arrested for allegedly &#8220;attempting to purchase and transfer advanced American military radar equipment, via Dubai to Iran,&#8221; Press TV said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Australia&#8217;s legal system intended to extradite Dehbashi to America, but he was eventually released&#8221; as Iran&#8217;s Foreign Ministry &#8220;resolved&#8221; the issue, it added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The news of Dehbashi&#8217;s release came, shortly after Australian Foreign Minister, Marise Payne, confirmed that an Australian couple, detained in Iran on spying charges were released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Iran&#8217;s judiciary, Australian Mark Firkin and British-Australian Jolie King were detained almost three months ago in Iran, over accusations of flying a drone and taking pictures of &#8220;military sites and forbidden areas.&#8221;&#8211; NNN-IRNA <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TEHRAN, Oct 6 (NNN-IRNA) &#8211; An Iranian research student, detained 13 months ago in Australia, on charges of exporting military equipment to Iran, is now back in Tehran, Press TV reported.
