{"id":43173,"date":"2019-09-20T16:45:56","date_gmt":"2019-09-20T08:45:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=43173"},"modified":"2019-09-20T16:45:56","modified_gmt":"2019-09-20T08:45:56","slug":"js-asagiri-docks-at-kuantan-port","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=43173","title":{"rendered":"JS Asagiri docks at Kuantan Port"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KUANTAN, Sept 20 (NNN-BERNAMA) &#8212; Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) warship, JS Asagiri (DD-151) has docked at the Kuantan Port here, in conjunction with its three-day\u00a0goodwill visit to Malaysia beginning last Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commanding Officer of the warship, Commander Yuichi Haeno said that on their visit here, they also had a meeting with the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We have plans&nbsp;to conduct a joint-training program with the RMN and the details were discussed during the meeting, which symbolised the close relationship between two defence forces.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We also hope this goodwill visit will strengthen bilateral relations between Japan and Malaysia,&#8221; he told reporters during a media visit to the warship&nbsp;on Wednesday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haeno said the&nbsp;JS Asagiri had just completed a four-month anti-piracy mission in the&nbsp;Gulf of Aden last August, and this was their&nbsp;first time docked in Kuantan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We have docked in Malaysia before, during the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2019 (LIMA &#8217;19) on last March,&#8221; he said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 3,550-tonne-JS Asagiri which is 137 meters long was commissioned in 1988 and capable of carrying accommodating one chopper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;NNN-BERNAMA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KUANTAN, Sept 20 (NNN-BERNAMA) &#8212; Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) warship, JS Asagiri (DD-151) has docked at the Kuantan Port here, in conjunction with its three-day\u00a0goodwill visit to Malaysia beginning last Wednesday.
