{"id":42577,"date":"2019-09-16T13:08:16","date_gmt":"2019-09-16T05:08:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=42577"},"modified":"2019-09-16T13:18:07","modified_gmt":"2019-09-16T05:18:07","slug":"jordans-trade-chamber-urges-syria-to-remove-trade-obstacles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/namnewsnetwork.org\/?p=42577","title":{"rendered":"Jordan&#8217;s Trade Chamber Urges Syria To Remove Trade Obstacles"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>AMMAN, Sept 16 (NNN-PETRA) &#8211; The Amman Chamber of Commerce called for removing obstacles imposed by the Syrian authorities on Jordanian exports, to boost trade exchange between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement, the chamber said, a meeting was held with a delegation from the Damascus Chamber of Commerce, to discuss measures to facilitate trade between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the meeting, it was stressed that the Jordanian merchants did not benefit from the reopening of the border crossing between Jordan and Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jordan&#8217;s exports to Syria have increased by 22 percent over the May-Aug period, in comparison with the same period of 2018, reaching 32 million U.S. dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Jordan-Syria border crossing was reopened in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2015, Jordan closed the Nasib Border Crossing for security concerns, while the Ramtha-Daraa Border Crossing has been closed for more than five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The closure of the two border crossings have caused heavy losses for Jordanian industries and business, as Syria is a big market for Jordanian products and a gateway for Jordan&#8217;s exports to Turkey and Europe.&#8211; NNN-PETRA  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AMMAN, Sept 16 (NNN-PETRA) &#8211; The Amman Chamber of Commerce called for removing obstacles imposed by the Syrian authorities on Jordanian exports, to boost trade exchange between the two countries.
