KIELCE (Poland), Sept 6 (Bernama) — WBE Technologies Sdn Bhd’s Regional Director Piotr Jozef Szymczak says the Polish based company’s cooperation with the Malaysian Armed Forces is for the long term with suitable technology transfer also in the offing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking on the sidelines of the 27th edition of the International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO 2019), here Thursday, Szymczak told Bernama International News Service that Malaysia has always been a growing and a reliable market in the defence sector, while technologically demanding at the same time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We are in Malaysia not just to sell our products but also willing to embark on suitable technology transfer,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
WBE Technologies is the Malaysian-based subsidiary of the WB Group, which is Poland’s private largest technological concern in the defence sector. Its office in Kuala Lumpur also serves as a regional sales as well as service and maintenance centre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Szymczak said WBE Technologies\u2019 commitment towards technology transfer was evident through the signing of the offset agreement for the Transfer of Technology (TOT) with Malaysian Ministry of Defence and the DRB-HICOM DEFTECH Sdn Bhd in April 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agreement stipulates the creation and further development of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and the development of bilateral cooperation within the area of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles system and solutions together with the Malaysian partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The WB Group started its marketing activities in the Malaysia in 2008. Its solutions in the field of the communications systems (FONET Tactical Digital Intercom Communication System ) and RADMOR 35010 Personal-Role Wireless Intercom Terminal (WIT) system are in service in the Malaysian national AV8 Gempita armoured vehicle programme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Continuous efforts to enhance meaningful cooperation within defence industries and sectors has always been important for us and the Malaysian side\u201d, Szymczak said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, at the ongoing MSPO 2019 here, which is Poland’s premier defence show, the WB Group is the second-largest exhibitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A total of 607 companies from 31 countries are taking part in the four-day event from Sept 3-6 at the Targi Kielce Exhibition and Congress Centre, here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Szymczak explained that the WB Group\u2019s C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) solutions and systems are operated not only by Poland\u2019s Armed Forces but also by the armed forces in the US, Malaysia, Hungary, Sweden, Slovakia, Ukraine, Thailand, Indonesia, Bangladesh and India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
