KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 (NNN-BERNAMA) —\u00a0Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has\u00a0not ruled\u00a0out the possibility that the recent network failure, which resulted in\u00a0a systems\u00a0disruption at the KL International Airport,\u00a0was caused by an act of malicious intent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNevertheless, we will put this in the hands of the authorities to do a full investigation on the matter,\u201d the airport operator said in a statement today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It also said\u00a0the network was \u201cstabilising well.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The information counter at the KLIA in Sepang, 60km away from here, had been experiencing service disruption in the last four days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The disruption to the airport’s Total Airport Management System (TAMS) had affected flight display information and slowed the check-in process, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite the network disruption in the last several days, the security aspects at the airport had remained intact, MAHB said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was possible due to the close cooperation given by the Department of Immigration Malaysia and the Royal Malaysia Police, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhile we have extended all possible assistance to the airlines during this period, the same level of assistance, cooperation and understanding was also given to us by the airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe would like to take this opportunity to once again express our sincere gratitude to our airline and agency stakeholders for coming together and providing the best fall back solutions,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MAHB\u00a0shares on Bursa Malaysia closed seven sen lower at\u00a0RM8.56 today with\u00a01.83 million shares changing hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
